I deactivated my Twitter account last year because I stopped checking random people’s news or statuses via Twitter. Facebook, on the other hand, is one that I still subscribe to for different news channels. Also, my interest has changed to Instagram due to its more visual platform in comparison to Twitter. However, on January 21st, there was an interesting and important talk about the future of television that I want to live tweet, so I re-activated my account.
It was held at the University of Michigan, North Quad Room 5450 by the Communication Studies Department. The title of the presentation was “Television Didn’t Die But Broadband Distribution Revolutionized It” by Dr. Lotz. The topic is related to my beat. Furthermore, it especially connects to my previous NYT post that mentioned an article about the conflict between Netflix and traditional television networks. It was a great time to look more deeply into the status of cable television and how broadband changed televison business nowadays. Here are my live tweets!
